MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Weather bureau Pagasa has spotted yet another low pressure area (LPA) that would, along with tropical storm Gener, bring more rain to Luzon.

Pagasa posted in its Twitter page on Sunday, July 29, that it has spotted a shallow LPA in the vicinity of Bataan at 9:45pm which will also produce heavy rain and strong winds.

As of 12:35am on Monday, July 30, the shallow LPA was estimated in the vicinity of Rizal.

The latest weather bulletin also said that tropical storm Gener (international codename Saola) has intensified further while moving in a north Northwest direction.

It was estimated at 340km east northeast of Aparri, Cagayan, with maximum sustained winds of 105 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 135kph. It is forecast to move NNW at 13kph.

Public storm warning signal 2 has been hoisted over Cagayan Including Calayan & Babuyan Group and Batanes Group of Islands.

Meanwhile, signal number 1 has been raised over Isabela, Kalinga, and Apayao.
